German del Sol

The architect I want to talk about is German del Sol. He’s a Chilean architect who has made a lot of his projects in our country.
He was born in Santiago in 1949. His architectural studies began in the Universidad Catolica de Chile were he staid for about 4 years but hi ended the carrier in Barcelona 3 years later.
Among his works I count the Pabellon Chileno for the Expo Sevilla in 1992, a Hotel in Atacama and in Patagonia, Corpora Offices, etc.
The reason why I like this architect is because his work is based in the nature, this projects are generally in extreme places of the country and the blend with the environment with such care that when you look at them you forget your washing a building in state of a nature creation.
The intervention that I like is called Termas Geometricas, in Pucon in the south of Chile. The all project is made in woof and is all about the road that the water makes from it’s fall from the mountains to his arrival in the ground. The platforms that direct the water trough the all complex are made of wood painted in green so you can distinguish them from the trees. You can also walk trough the trees and water falls touching everything. It’s a complete sensitive experience I that is most important thing that I love about this place.
If you decide to travel to Pucon you have to go to the Geometric Terms, but I have to say that de road is a bit complicated but the places that you will see are amazing, you won’t regret it…oh and the entrance is a little expensive but the experience totally worth it.
