German del Sol

The architect I want to talk about is German del Sol. He’s a Chilean architect who has made a lot of his projects in our country.
He was born in Santiago in 1949. His architectural studies began in the Universidad Catolica de Chile were he staid for about 4 years but hi ended the carrier in Barcelona 3 years later.
Among his works I count the Pabellon Chileno for the Expo Sevilla in 1992, a Hotel in Atacama and in Patagonia, Corpora Offices, etc.
The reason why I like this architect is because his work is based in the nature, this projects are generally in extreme places of the country and the blend with the environment with such care that when you look at them you forget your washing a building in state of a nature creation.
The intervention that I like is called Termas Geometricas, in Pucon in the south of Chile. The all project is made in woof and is all about the road that the water makes from it’s fall from the mountains to his arrival in the ground. The platforms that direct the water trough the all complex are made of wood painted in green so you can distinguish them from the trees. You can also walk trough the trees and water falls touching everything. It’s a complete sensitive experience I that is most important thing that I love about this place.
If you decide to travel to Pucon you have to go to the Geometric Terms, but I have to say that de road is a bit complicated but the places that you will see are amazing, you won’t regret it…oh and the entrance is a little expensive but the experience totally worth it.

Wordle

Wordle is this sort of game that can create clouds of words that you choose. You can right down some thing and wordle will generate this really fun and cute cloud with your own words putting emphasis in the ones that are most repeated in the text. Ç
There are a lot and different designs you can pick and make a text more fun, like for example if you want to right a letter but you thing a normal one is to impersonal o boring you can go to this page and create a cloud with the text and make it totally different.
Maybe I can be fun for kids to play because they can learn that writing can be actually fun if you find an interesting way of showing your own words.

I honestly like it a lot and I’m going to try it

Keeping Fit

Of the little interviews I just made I got all different types of results that I actually didn’t hope.
There are a few people that do sports o some physical activity to keep fit but most of them don’t do anything except eating well and walk a little during the day. I realized that a lot of them don’t exercise because they don’t have time for it or the gyms are to far away, but if the had a gym right here in the university they would totally go…wish means that the problem with our sedentarism is not because we’re lazy, actually is because we don’t have time.
All of them agreed that the best and maybe only way of keeping fit are sport and eat the right things … none of them believe in pills or body lotions that are in the markets because most of them are fake or in the case that they can help you, they don’t do miracles so if you want to keep yourself in good shape, sports and a good daily meal are the option.

I can't live without them

I can't talk about my favourite piece of technology but I can say that I totally depend on my cell phone and my laptop. Maybe "depend" on them is a strong thing to say but that's how it is. I communicate with everyone trough my cell and I organize all my day with it so I'm lost without it specially because I don't wear a watch I look at the hour on my cell, it's like when I forget it at home (wish rarely happens) I'm lost not only in space but also in time…very drastic but that's how it is for me. I like to have a modern phone not a very expensive one but modern that fits my style, small, with colours, camera, radio, and a big memory for text messages. I change it two times last year and both times I got robed so I'm using an old model but very "me". About my laptop I got it 2 years ago and I just can't imagine my life without it, I do everything there: planes, homework, study, researches, talk with friends and stuff like that. Even when I travel away from the city my laptop comes with me, I can't leave it behind I don't know why I just can't. I have everything it maters to me in there: songs, photos, drawings, works, etc. It's like a small part of my memory in digital format.
I know It's wrong to let your life depend on material things but I really notice a difference on my day when I don't have them It's like I'm missing something. Maybe I should start to organize myself in another way but right now I totally depend on both things … my cell phone and my laptop.

Patience

I have to say that finding my favorite song it was incredibly hard I mean there are like a million songs that I like and choosing 1 out of the all bunch it seems impossible. I started by dismissing the ones that are in Spanish and that actually reduced the list a lot leaving me with song that I liked only because I thought the singers were cute.
The song that I chose is called Patience of the group Gun’s N Roses. I don’t really know much about the song only that it’s from the album GNR Lies. The reason why I like it is because a very important person in my life sent it and dedicated to me a long time ago. I had completely forgotten about it but researching in my computer I found it and I remember how special I was for me when I listen to it for the first time.

Well here are the lyrics:

,2,1,2,3,4

Shed a tear 'cause

I'm missin' you

I'm still alright to smile

Girl, I think about you every day now

Was a time when I wasn't sure

But you set my mind at ease

There is no doubt

You're in my heart now

Said, woman, take it slow

It'll work itself out fine

All we need is just a little patience

Said, sugar, make it slow

And we come together fine

All we need is just a little patience

(patience)

Mm, yeah

I sit here on the stairs

'Cause I'd rather be alone

If I can't have you right now

I'll wait, dear

Sometimes I get so tense

But I can't speed up the time

But you know, love

There's one more thing to consider

Said, woman, take it slow

And things will be just fine

You and I'll just use a little patience

Said, sugar, take the time

'Cause the lights are shining bright

You and I've got what it takes

To make it, We won't fake it,

I'll never break it

'cause I can't take it

...Little patience, mm yeah, mm yeah

need a little patience, yeah

just a little patience, yeah

some more patience, yeah

need some patience, yeah

could use some patience, yeah

gotta have some patience, yeah

all it takes is patience,

just a little patience

is all you need...

I been walkin' the street at night

Just tryin' to get it right

Hard to see with so many around

You know I don´t like

Being stuck in the crow

And the streets don´t change

But baby the name

I ain´t got time for the game

'Cause I need you

Yeah, yeah, but I need you

Oo, I need you

Whoa, I need you Oo, all this time (ah)

BBC Learning English

Ok. Honestly? I don’t think you can learn English or any other language trough a web site. It might help you with vocabulary and quizzes to test your own skills but learning … it does not convince me. It’s fun to do the quizzes and listen to the music or stories that are showed there but I think the best way of learning a new language (that is not your native language) is by talking … just talking to someone that knows the language you want to learn of course. It’s interesting to challenge yourself against a computer because you can’t really know if your answers are right or wrong the thing is that when you answer a test to a computer you have the chance of doing it again and again until you get it right wish doesn’t happens when you are taking an exam in front of a teacher. The web site can work for people who doesn’t have time to take an English course or maybe doesn’t want to and if it works for them It’s ok but the best way of really learn is exchanging opinions with other people, you can expand your vocabulary, improve in your pronunciation and stuff like that wish you cannot with the web site. I have to admit thou that the writing can be very helpful for the orthography and redaction, if your English is more needed in a paper it can work for you but if speaking is what you want … then get up of the computer chair and sing in an English course where you can related with other English students.
